A Little About My Journey

My love affair with plants started young—I remember drawing my first herb garden and then actually planting one in our backyard. Armed with determination (and a lot of trial and error), I grew mint, thyme, oregano, and rosemary that came back year after year. That early curiosity about how plants heal never left me.

Before becoming an acupuncturist, I spent years as a theatrical stage manager, touring coffee shops and theaters across North America. Eventually I landed in Seattle, where life took an unexpected turn. Going through a divorce led me to therapy, and through that work, I realized how disconnected I felt from my own body. A friend suggested acupuncture—I didn’t know much about it, but I was willing to try. It changed everything for me.

What I Believe About Healing

Here’s what fascinates me: when you look at matter at the cellular level, atoms are mostly electrons in motion—electromagnetic energy. We’re not as solid as we think; it’s not just ’empty space’ in between. So when we experience trauma—physical or emotional—it can create blockages in our body’s energetic pathways. That’s where acupuncture comes in.

I love using acupuncture and herbal medicine because they work with your whole self, not just symptoms. Whole plant medicine uses all the constituents of the plant to support your body’s natural wisdom. It’s an ancient approach that still makes so much sense today.
